NYC Parking Ticket Lookup by License Plate
Check any New York City parking or camera ticket by license plate — free, no signup. Enter your plate and its registration state to see open violations, what you owe, and whether it’s worth contesting.
How it works
NYC publishes every parking and camera violation in its public Open Parking and Camera Violations dataset. We search it live by your plate and state and show what’s outstanding. New camera tickets (speed, red-light, bus-lane) can take a few weeks to post — so a plate that’s clean today can pick one up next week. That’s why drivers use TicketPilot to monitor a plate and get alerted the moment a new ticket appears.
Frequently asked questions
How do I look up NYC tickets by license plate?
Enter your plate number and its registration state above and tap “Check my tickets.” We search New York City’s public Open Parking and Camera Violations data and show every parking and camera ticket tied to that plate.
Is this lookup free?
Yes — it’s completely free and needs no account. It runs on NYC’s open government data, the same records the city publishes publicly.
Does it include camera tickets (speed, red light, bus lane)?
Yes. Speed-camera, red-light, and bus-lane camera violations are included alongside parking tickets.
How current is the data, and why might a ticket be missing?
NYC refreshes the dataset regularly, but a new camera ticket can take roughly 14–30 days to appear after the violation. That lag is exactly why monitoring your plate is useful — you find out as soon as one lands.
Can I get alerted when a new ticket shows up?
Yes. TicketPilot can watch your plate and send a push notification the moment a new NYC ticket appears, so you never miss a deadline or rack up late fees.
Is my search private?
We only look up the plate you type in and we don’t store it. This tool is meant for checking your own vehicle.
Can I check tickets in other cities this way?
Not yet — New York City is the only major U.S. city that publishes ticket data searchable by license plate. Most cities don’t expose the plate number in their open data.
